عدد

                        Each noun in the arabic language has a specific quantity, it can either be singular (واحد) , dual (تثنية) or plural (جمع) . There are also generic nouns (اسم جنس) which can be any quantity according to the context it is being used in. 
          (a) واحد : 
                - when the noun is one in quantity. 
                        e.g. رجل , مؤمن 
          (b) () :
                - when the noun is two in quantity, neither less nor more. There are two suffixes that are added to the original noun to make it dual :
                        + ان :
                              e.g. رجلاَن
                        + ين :
                              e.g. رجلين
 
          (c) (جمع) :
                - when the noun is three of more in quantity, there are two types of plurals : 
                        + Sound Plural (جمع سالم) : the singular word is suffixed by the plural sign and remains as it was, there are three signs of plural : 
                              =  ون
                                     e.g. مؤمنون
                              = ين
                                     e.g. مؤمنين
                              = ات
                                     e.g. مؤمنات
                       + Broken Plural (جمع مكسر) : The واحد word does not remain intact, it is broken and prefix / infix / suffix are added to it or some letters are taken out of it to make it جمع. There are certain word structures for جمع مكس                                = (جمع قلة) : used for plurals that number less then 10 but more then 2
                                     e.g. Structure : (اَفْعَالٌ) Example : (اَقْوَامٌ) Singular : (شَهْرٌ)
                                     e.g. Structure : (اَفْعُلٌ) Example : (اَشْهُرٌ) Singular : (قوْمٌ)
                                     e.g. Structure : (اَفْعِلَةٌ) Example : (اَطْعِمَةٌ) Singular : (طَعَامٌ)
                              = (جمع كثرة) : used for plurals that number more then 10
                                     e.g. Structure : (فِعَالٌ) Example : (عِبَادٌ) Singular : (عِبْدٌ)
                                     e.g. Structure : (فُعَلَاءُ) Example : (عُلَمَاءُ) Singular : (عَالِمٌ)
                                     e.g. Structure : (اَفْعِلَاءُ) Example : (اَنْبِيَاءُ) Singular : (نَبِيٌّ)
                                     e.g. Structure : (فُعُلٌ) Example : (رُسُلٌ) Singular : (رَسُولٌ)
                                     e.g. Structure : (فُعُولٌ) Example : (نُجُومٌ) Singular : (نَجْمٌ)
                                     e.g. Structure : (فُعَّالٌ) Example : (كٌفَّارٌ) Singular : (كَافِرٌ)
